Desroches Island Resort - A magical island retreat with stylish accommodation.
Desroches stands on a submerged atoll, 230 kilometres southwest of Mahé, and is the most eastern island in the Amirantes group. It is 6km long and 1.5km wide at its widest point. Encircled by 13kms of white sand beaches and surrounded by about 70 kilometres of reef just waiting to be explored, the island drops some 2000 metres into the clear blue water of the Indian Ocean and is teeming with abundant marine life. Big game fishing is excellent and Desroches is also considered one of the best diving areas in the Indian Ocean. Some 14 sites with attractions such as chimneys, tunnels, canyons and caves will entertain and challenge all levels of divers. Desroches Island Resort consists of just 20 beautifully furnished private suites providing spacious accommodation. Of colonial style, these individual suites are scattered through coconut palm groves and vibrant colourful gardens and are just a few metres from island's west-facing beach. In addition, there are also 28 four-bedroomed villas, each with private pool. Two restaurants specialise in carefully prepared and mouth-watering dishes using fresh produce from the island’s plantation and spice garden, as well as the catch of the day! The Coconut Spa provides traditional Asian massage techniques and full body treatments that will leave you feeling wonderfully exhilarated. This is a paradise filled with exotic aromas, essential oils, spice and floral fragrances, designed to enhance and optimise a 'total mind & body experience'.
