As a travel writer once said:
"… arriving on Fregate Island is like being beamed into heaven…"
This magnificent granitic island lying east of Mahé covers an area approx. 3sq km and offers no less than seven unspoilt beaches. It is home to many rare species of wildlife including the Magpie Robin and can also be your "home away from home" with its 16 exclusive and totally private villas. A perfect hideaway with one of the most understated luxurious experiences in an "untamed" natural environment.
Most of the superb and exclusively designed villas overlook a spectacular beach. Richly furnished in Thai silks and Egyptian cottons, the villas consist of an open entrance foyer, separate living room and bedroom and two bathrooms with outdoor showers. The private wooden sundeck leads to a private pool, the perfect setting for in-villa dining.
The main building houses one of two restaurants, two bars, a library and an exclusive boutique and gallery. There are two infinity swimming pools spilling over the horizon with a waterfall cascading over the rocks.
The new Rock Spa & Sanctuary was the first indigenous spa in the Seychelles, incorporating nature's elements of earth, fire, water and air in Creole-inspired architecture. Following a consultation with experienced therapists, remedial therapies are prepared fresh each day utilising natural island produce.
