Seychelles Holidays

The archipelago of Seychelles lies four degrees south of the Equator and a thousand miles from the nearest landmass. The inner granite islands were created from a splinter of India when it tore away from the African continent over 650million years ago. The outer islands are composed of coral.

On the one hundred or so islands, scattered over an area of 400,000 square kilometres of Indian Ocean, you can discover primeval mistforests, giant tortoises, black parrots and white-throated rail birds (related to the extinct Dodo).

There are beautiful old plantation houses to visit, legends of pirates and buried treasure to explore, view the abundance of flora and fauna in their natural habitat or just relax on powder soft, white sand beaches surrounded by coral reefs supporting a kaleidesope of tropical life and sparkling lagoons.

The peoples of Seychelles are an exotic blend of different nationalities, African, Indian, French, Arabic, Chinese and English, all of whom have brought their own customs and culture to the islands. Kreol is the local language although most Seychellois speak at least three languages fluently; Kreol, English and French. As with most small island communities fishing is largely their source of income and traditional boat building is still a thriving industry.

The modern Seychelles government is considered one of the World's most environmentaly-conscious administrations keen to ensure that the islands do not become overly commercialised.

Beautiful islands in a dream setting. Seychelles.........unique by a thousand miles !!
